It all started around 1999.
At that time I started writing some'Lisp Programs' for my daily work.
After the programs and code snippets became more and more and I slowly lost the overview, I had to find a system that would take a lot of work off my hands when searching, managing and handling the tools.
At first I installed a simple database on my computer - you always start somehow...
But then I also needed one or the other tool somewhere else than at my workplace.
Again it was vinegar with the program, which gave me a good overview of the tools, but was only installed on the computer at work.
The possibilities of USB sticks didn't exist then as they do today and carrying floppy disks wasn't exactly what I had in mind.
At that time I was given the opportunity to use the internet at my workplace and so I also got new insights into the possibilities of the net.
It was also just about the time when the internet forums on CAD came up in German-speaking countries.
The Induma Forum was one of the most visited at the time. I have participated quite actively in the discussions.
As I was able to help more and more users with small programs and code snippets in their work, I had the idea to list the tools on a website and make them available, so that I only had to post a link to the corresponding tools to the users.
The web space was quickly worried, now only one name had to be found for the website.
My colleague who is a gifted hobby painter and designer thought up the name CADwiesel. It must have come from the fact that I always finished my CAD work as fast as a weasel.
So CADwiesel was born.
Then I discovered cad.de "where in a short time more and more CAD users came together.
The forum was ingeniously simple and highly effective: other users answered user questions very quickly.
Soon all users from the different other forums were to be found on cad.de - and so I also limited my forum activity only to cad.de.
